Help Carla Kick Cancer's Butt

During this time an opportunity came up to work in a small but wonderful town we once lived in Alpine, Tx as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. This was calling that my sister could not ignore, so she packed up her whole life and two weeks later she was on her journey to Alpine.
Most of us know the struggles of moving is challenging enough, not to mention with a family, but she did it, pushing through the pain successfully with out complaint! She started her job immediately and as things settled down she decided this was the time to get a check up and maybe check out what was causing the pain and lump.
In March 2019, Carla began her quest for the news she needed, yet dreaded. Carla was as diagnosed with a rare cancer, a soft tissue sarcoma located in her right buttock. Her ongoing battle has consisted of traveling more than 3 hours to El Paso for radiation, doctors visits, as well as traveling for her numerous CT's and MRI's then traveling more than 3 hours back to Alpine to rest on the weekend. She's had to find lodging so she is able to stay for her treatment in El Paso because the travel is so strenuous. Carla's next phase of this battle will be surgery on Aug 16th in hopes to remove the cancer. The doctors will have to remove some muscle around the tumor, therefore she will need physical therapy and unfortunately there's no telling how long before shes able to be back fully on her feet.
She has always been symbol strength, guidance, and love for me as well as well as many others. Carla is is a pillar of the community. She is always willing to jump up and lend a hand even to those she's barely known. During her time in La Vernia the tragedy of Sutherland Springs shooting occurred, with out hesitation the next morning she was at a local church volunteering free counseling for anyone affected by the tragic event. She reacted so quickly that the red cross wasn't set up yet to offer services, she knew for those affected there wasn't a second to waste! She didn't limit it to the victims or to survivors, she included their families and friends, which were turned away by other agencys. Carla volunteered many hours to the Hermann Son's Dance for the La Vernia chapter, which she also became the president of. She also volunteered for Blue Bonnet 4-H for several years becoming the assistant manager and fundraising coordinator. She goes above and beyond on any community project she participates in.
Now, Carla needs help from the community more than ever. I am asking for any donation for Carla to help with her medical bills and to help keep her afloat during her recovery time. Cancer it's self is not just a physical battle but also emotionally and mentally draining. I have never seen my sister tired or weakened, cancer is taking it's toll. During the past months I have seen her try her best to keep things to the norm for her girls, I see push her self so they don't have to feel the burden that we know cancer has on our family. Anything donated from the heart would be a blessing and will help to take some of the pressure so that she can focus on fighting the real fight, nothing is too small of a donation. Prayers are very much appreciated as well. Thank you and God Bless you!
