Carla’s Journey: A Fight for Healing

In May 2024, after a routine mammogram, Carla received the news no one ever wants to hear — she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

She immediately began treatment, including immunotherapy, to shrink the tumor. Unfortunately, one of the two necessary drugs was not covered by insurance.

Despite completing all prescribed treatments, the tumor did not respond as hoped. In October 2024, Carla underwent a left-side mastectomy. Thankfully, her margins and scans were clear afterward bringing hope and relief.

For nearly a year, things remained stable. However, at her most recent CT scan in October 2025, three swollen lymph nodes appeared, raising new concerns. A PET scan was performed and the lymph nodes seem to be positive for cancer.

Carla now faces another round of treatment and is working closely with her doctors to determine the best plan of action. The one drug they denied should be covered this time.

Throughout her journey, Carla has embraced a combination of traditional and natural healing methods. She continues to explore alternative therapies such as mistletoe IV therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, in hopes of supporting her body’s natural healing process alongside medical treatments. Unfortunately, these therapies are often not covered by insurance and can be quite costly.

Over the past year and a half, the expenses from medical bills, supplements, natural therapies and time off for two surgeries have taken a significant toll on the family. Still, Carla remains determined — not just to heal, but to uncover the root cause of her illness.

Doctors believe environmental factors may have played a role, and Carla has made major lifestyle changes, from nutrition to non-toxic living, in her quest to stay healthy and help others who may face similar battles in the future.

Now, as she begins another phase of her journey, Carla and her family need our help. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her ongoing treatments, healing therapies, and continued search for answers.
