Help Carl save the Golden Star boxing gym

No one likes asking for help, and we know this kind hearted man won’t, so we’re doing it for him.

 

Carl Teasedale lost his best friend and adopted “Dad” a few years ago, and it broke his heart - Charlie Beswick (Mr Bez).

 

Charlie’s devoted his life to keeping kids off the streets, and Carl was one of these fortunate kids. Their bond was unbreakable and Charlie and Carl between them have devoted 50 years to the Golden Star boxing club. And continuing in that same true spirit of kindness and community, he has continued to help as many people as he can through the pandemic.

 

Because of the nature of Charlie and Carl’s close relationship, Charlie left everything to Carl in his will when he passed away, with the clear instruction to sell everything and put the money towards the boxing club and carry on the good fight!

As well as dealing with grief and the loss of his beloved “dad”, he’s had to deal with a contested will, which has been won through various courts, but unfortunately he lost the last fight at the High Court.  Charlie made Carl promise that if this happened he would fight it to the death and Carl kept that promise. This means that the boxing club will now struggle due to lack of funding. and of course the devastation of not fulfilling his “dad’s” wish is heartbreaking. All they both wanted was to continue the good work through the Boxing Club.

 

If you can find it in your heart to donate even a small amount to the Golden Star boxing gym, so that Carl  can try and keep Charlie's beloved boxing gym going, and keep those youngsters off the street and continue to give them somewhere to go doing something they love. In a time where community spirit, is most needed, I hope that our community can help keep Charlie Beswick's (Mr Bez) wish alive x
