Hello, my name is Carl McIntyre. I own and operate Mac Boats Alaska in the village of Tuntutuliak, Alaska. We were, along with many neighboring villages in Western Alaska, greatly impacted by the remnants of Typhoon Halong.
My shop where I build the Mac Boats had about 4 feet of water in it, destroying my welders and a lot of my other equipment and tools. This happened very quickly and in the early hours when it was totally dark outside. Many houses were filled with water, including my family’s. Many were swept off of their foundations. Even though we had many belongings destroyed, I consider my family fortunate to still have a home to clean up.
My goal is to at least buy 1 welder and a few tools to be able to start building again. All of my financial resources went to buying heaters and household items to rebuild our home.
