Right before Christmas, Carl went to the ER for migraines and they found 2 tumors on his brain. This was the start of a slippery slope that has had him in and out of the hospital ever since. His first brain surgery was scheduled almost immediately, which diagnosed the tumors as melanoma, but sadly he couldn’t get the second due to a heart attack. After a few more bumps in the road, Carl remains in the hospital working hard with doctors and physical therapists to fix him up and regain strength to continue on with cancer treatments. But the road ahead is still very long.

This has been extremely hard on Carl & his wife, Sherrie, who has been supporting him through this very hard time and keeping their lives afloat. Sherrie has also not been able to work since last year as full-time support has been needed for Carl. Although they’ve remained strong and optimistic, anyone could guess the toll this all has taken on their hearts and their lives.

So I'm asking for help. Some of you know him as Dr. Carl, while others know him as a musician and John Denver Tribute Artist, but I know him as my fiancé's dad. A man I've come to learn as extremely generous and supportive to so many around him. As I’m sure we all know the physical, emotional and financial strain medical emergencies have on a family, we wanted to find a way to support Carl & Sherrie through this time. Whether it be through cards with encouragement and love, a healthy home cooked meal, or a small donation to help cover this new normal for them, we would love to lift them up through this very difficult season of life.

For the man that has treated, sang for, and helped so many in this community, I would love to show him how much he means to everyone to get him through this.

As their soon-to-be daughter-in-law, I will keep you all updated on here with how he's doing through this journey. We appreciate any and all support immensely.
