Hi everyone,

I am so proud to share that my daughter, Cari, has been selected to participate in the prestigious World Journalism Institute (WJI) Select Crash Course this May at Dordt University!

Cari has a heart for storytelling and a real drive to pursue journalism. This two-week intensive program is an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her to sharpen her skills, learn from industry professionals, and take the next big step toward her career goals.

As you can imagine, getting from our home in New York to Iowa for this program comes with significant travel costs—including airfare, airport transfers, specialized equipment for the course, and travel-day expenses.

Cari is both thrilled and a little nervous to embark on this journey, especially as she navigates her first solo flight. We are doing everything we can to make this happen for her, but we are reaching out to our community to ask for your support.

Your contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward:

Round-trip airfare from Syracuse to Sioux Falls.

Required technical gear (including audio/video accessories) for her coursework.

Travel-related expenses for the two-week duration.

Cari has worked incredibly hard to earn this spot, and we want to ensure she can focus entirely on her training rather than worrying about the logistics.
