Help Care for Cows Vrindavan Expand

Dear Friends and Well Wishers of Care for Cows Vrindavan,

His Grace Kurma Rupa Prabhu, our beloved founder, began serving the cows at Madhuvan colony in Vrindavan over 20 years ago. What became known as Care for Cows was later shifted down the road to a larger plot in Sunrakh.  Late in 2010, having outgrown the Sunrakh location, the cows were shifted a little further down the road to our current main location at the Food for Life Vrindavan premises in Kiki Nagla.  What began with Prabhu feeding a few cows on the streets, by his love and devotion, grew into a large cow protection program!

Since Kurma Rupa's departure from this earthly realm in 2015, we have continued to serve and love the cows, just as we learned from Prabhu's example. Over the years, Care for Cows has rescued, rehabilitated and given life long protection to hundreds and hundreds of cows.  Our present capacity allows for the maintenance of around 280 cows, bulls, oxen, and calves at two locations within the sacred precincts of Vrindavan. However, there is a great need to protect many more.

Far too often, we are called to help a cow or calf on the streets and we have no choice but to decline, due to being over our capacity.  Having to choose which cows to take in and which cows to leave helpless on the streets is heartbreaking. We know what the fate of those cows left behind will look like.

Some years ago, when Kurma Rupa Prabhu was still present with us, we acquired a large plot a little further down the road in the village of Gonda Attas.  Using our savings, we have finally started to prepare this land as a loving home for many more cows in need.

We humbly request your assistance in the construction of this land so that many more cows may be given life-long protection and loving care.  Before we can start taking in more cows from the streets, the following essentials must be in place:
-a sturdy barrier wall around the entire plot
-a brick floor to provide a stable platform for the cows' feeding area
-a large concrete feeder (without the floor beneath, it would shift/sink and break)
-a roof/shed over the feeding area to provide the cows shelter from rain and scorching sun
-additional metal fencing
-a large storage unit for feed

The total costs are estimated at 20 lakh rupees ($27,000 USD/22,000 Euro).  It is a small investment relative to the several hundred more cows who will be able to receive protection and love in the coming years!

Please join us in our efforts to further expand CFCV, as we are certain would please HG Kurma Rupa greatly.
