Help care for Annie-Anne

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I hate to ask for help but I feel like there is no other options. My 5 month old daughter was just diagnosed last wednesday with infantile spasms which is a type of seizure disorder. Upstate did an mri which revealed a hole in her brain. They are thinking she had a stroke while i was pregnant but we will never truely know. Upstate started her on two seizure medications. We go home and saturday night Annie started spitting up more than usual so i waited until sunday to see if it would get better but it didnt and she wouldnt keep her meds down so i called the triage number for upstate and they told me to bring her back in. Brought her back to upstate sunday night around 7 and they made me wait in the er until 6am to be seen by the attending neurologist. The neurologist finally comes in and tells me there was a mistake at discharge and Annie was prescribed two times the amount of seizure medications she was supposed to be getting! I told them take everything out of my child so we can leave but they said the only way i can leave is if she kept her meds down. She kept them down and was discharged. We went home around noon. She didnt keep her 1:00 or 7:00 med down and ended up projectile vomitting so i said this is my sign to have her seen again! Sunday night i brought her to Rochester and they admitted her. They did some bloodwork which showed she was in metabolic acidosis which means the medication was at a toxic level from such a high dose of seizure med. They ended up switching her medication to 2 injections a day. We are waiting in the hospital to get approved for the medication which can take up to a week to get approved. On top of everythjng she has 3 respiratory viruses. My poor pumpkin.  So with all of this being said i dont feel comfortable sending her back to daycare and i have to be home to monitor her seizures and let the doctors know if this medication is working or not because the last medication did not work. It is very important that we get these seizures under control sooner than later because they can lead to serious complications. All of her appointments will be in Rochester. So i am asking for help financial to help our family get through until she is healthy enough for me to return to work. She will be on these injections for a month so im hoping i can return to work after she is done with the injections. It has been such a tough time on my family and i and im hoping to get a little help to relieve some of the financial stress. Unfortunately i have only been at my job for 3 and a half months so i dont qualify for fmla or nys family leave. We would appriciate anything from the bottom of our hearts. I will keep everyone updated on her progress.
