Help Care for a Loving Veteran's Family

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Rosary Natividad. I'm trying to raise money to help take care of funeral services, medical bills, and expenses. My husband passed away from cancer. My husband was a Vietnam Veteran. He was drafted to Vietnam and sent to war. During his time in Vietnam, my husband was exposed to Agent Orange. My husband battled the cancer for two years. It started off in the lungs, then spread to his brain and throat. All the chemotherapy and radiation made his throat paralyzed, the left side of his face, and then he lost vision in his eye. My husband could not eat any solid food for two years. His first surgery was to install a feeding tube. The only way to get food/nutrition was through a "liquid diet" and through a peg tube. Treatment after treatment, the doctors could not stop the cancer from spreading. I understand everyone may ask why doesn't he have VA Benefits? Well, we did apply for over 2 years, 4 different times, all getting DENIED. It is something my husband and I could never understand. Appeal after appeal, all to get denied till his last breath. Getting denied added a stress level that could not be explained or imagined, then with the additional stress of the treatments, it was taking a toll on me. My husband did not have life insurance, so I'm left with all the responsibilities and liabilities.

Please share my story. My husband had his life shortened by many years from being drafted to Vietnam and exposed to Agent Orange. He had his life taken away from him, getting drafted to the Army. My husband had a scholarship to play baseball, and he didn't get to live his dream because he was taken away from it and shipped to Vietnam. He left his dream behind with no choice to protect our country. My husband was a very generous man, always did things for everyone else but himself. He put his family and friends first before himself. He was the type of man that would break his back for you and do anything you ask for no money. He didn't deserve to get denied for the VA. To this day, even in his last days, he could never understand why he was denied and never recognized for his service. He was out of the service with an honorable discharge. This is his and my story in short. I thank anyone who chooses to read our story. We were married for 49 years.

A cremation memorial will be held on October 11th, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Greeley Colorado.
