Help Cara stay close to Matt

Update from Cara: They stopped the sedation medicine and he was waking up but then he became combative and they had to give him sedation again. They will continue to try to wean him off slowly. But when he's awake he is aware and knows who I am and can Answer yes and no questions by shaking his head. He knew who Jaelynn was and was answer yes and no questions for her too. At one point I said hi and he waved at me and Jaelynn giggled and he squeezed her hand! So they will try all of it again tomorrow! Ps ...it took 5 of us to hold him down...he is super strong.                                Update from Cara.....The Dr just came in. Matt is responding very well to painful stimulation and his pupils are both equal and reactive. This a HUGE improvement from yesterday. They will be doing another head CT today at noon. Please continue to pray so hard for Matt Ackley...myself, his children, his parents and our entire family need him!

They are allowing Cara to stay by Matts side as of now and we are all hoping for the best❤ he 

The hospital Matt is currently at is over an hour from their home. Cara is going to attempt to stay with Matt but with him being in ICU she may have to get a hotel. With the cost of that, plus gas to drive when needed, food and medical bills anything will help. Cara and Matt are the most selfless people I know in my life and need us now more than ever! We need to keep Cara healthy to be able to be there for Matt.

Update: He's out of surgery. He is in a coma and on a vent. There is drain tube in his brain as well as pressure monitor. He has significant bruising and swelling on his brain. They are hoping he will start to wake up in 2-3 days and we won't know of the severity of the brain damage until he wakes up. If everything goes good they will replace the piece of his skull in roughly 3 months. The next 3-4 days are critical. Please keep the positivity coming! For any of you that know Matt, hes stubborn as hell which will help in his fight! Cara is on her way home to clean up, get some things and head back to be by his side! We will keep you updated and let you know if there's anything she needs.

As most of you know Cara has been through absolutely soooo much this last year with her most recent surgery being last Thursday, I received a call this morning that no one wants to wake up to. Matt is currently in ICU and being taken into surgery. They aren't sure of the exact cause, but he went unconscious and took a fall, he is suffering from multiple brain bleeds and a fractured skull. The surgery will last approximately 4 to 5 hours, they are performing a Craniotomy and are saying if he makes it out of surgery they are unsure of the amount of brain damage. We are all staying positive❤
