I need your help to get published!
Hi Everyone,
During an unprecedented 2020 I decided it was time to try and fulfil a childhood dream of mine. I am hoping with your help this dream could be possible!
For those that don’t know me very well, from the age of 12 I started writing songs, stories and plays (the only way I have ever truly known to express myself). Fast forward a little bit and during the last year I have written a teen fantasy novel which, crazily enough, has actually been accepted by a reputable publishing house!!
Olympia Publishers, after reading my manuscript, has offered me a ‘hybrid’ publishing contract! This essentially means I need to raise and invest £2,600 upfront, after which, assuming ‘earthly’ people like yourselves enjoy my book, Olympia will cover all further costs to make it available to a much wider audience (one can only dream!).
I am certainly not a millionaire and there is no guarantee the book will be a hit, but I would hugely appreciate any help in taking this once in a lifetime opportunity to the next step. I take hope in the fact that Olympia has said they receive hundreds of applications each month :)
Specifically, the £2,600 will include:
· A professional editor (who I will work with closely to refine the book)
· A graphic designer to design the front cover
· Printing, storage, marketing and distribution based on the demand
Below is short extract of my first novel (Unearthlies: The Keeper of the Chrysalis):
The surroundings of the dark, unrecognisable street faded away and slowly morphed into an expanse of trees. We did it. We were in the fog forest. I appreciated its natural beauty for all of one minute. It felt like autumn there, even though it was summer in the earthly realm. Leaves of yellow and auburn, darkened by the night, glistened as they were kissed by the light from the full moon. The tall, overhanging trees struck me as comparable to the ones in the picture of mama and Paul, as he wrapped his arms around her.
"It's beautiful, isn't it."
My pledge:
I definitely can’t promise anything, but if the book is well received I pledge to give everyone that has donated a free (and signed) copy of the book.
Any contribution to get to my target would be massively appreciated! There is no donation too small!
Thank you so much!
Cara
