Help Captain Robert; Fight Senior Financial Abuse

My name is Patti Cloos and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my good friend and former employer. I was Captain Robert’s wife’s caregiver for five years. Alice (Aly) passed away in 2023 from Dementia.

Captain Robert had a 24-year relationship, 18-year marriage, and was Aly’s 24/7 primary caregiver for five years. Captain Robert is a retired sea captain, and is not only a wonderful person, but one of the kindest people I know.

Captain Robert developed his Christian values from his great grandmother, Alice U Kerr, who founded the Edmonds Baptist Church and was elected Mayor of Edmonds in 1925

Aly’s children inherited Aly’s house and three days after Aly passed, they shut off the water and electricity forcing Captain Robert to vacate the home so they could sell or rent the house and divide the money amongst themselves.

Aly told me on several occasions over the past five years how much she loved “Bobby” and wanted him to share in the sale of house. I was privileged to have read the numerous love letters Aly wrote to Captain Robert, expressing her appreciation for the happiness and love that he had given her for over twenty-four years.

Captain Robert is eighty-three years of age and was forced to live in his truck as a homeless person for several months, causing him to be diagnosed with heart hypertension and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD.

The expense of retaining an attorney is beyond Captain Robert’s financial resources.

The unfair treatment and injustice Captain Robert faces are not just an attack on him, but an attack that every Senior faces when their “Estate Plan” is changed using undue influence.

It's a moment that calls into question the balance of justice and the application of probate law. If being deprived of a spouse’s end of life wishes can happen to Captain Robert, it can happen to any one of us.

In standing with Captain Robert, we're not just supporting an individual; we're upholding the cause of everyone who believes that their final wishes will not be changed by bad actors or greedy family members.
