Help Captain Mikey get better and come home

Our favorite person Mikey, Captain Mike, Braaler, and most importantly Papa has been very sick, and it’s going to be a very long recovery. On March 31st, we rushed Mikey to the hospital, because he was experiencing severe pain in his legs. Come to find out, he had a terrible infection in his leg that spread to his whole body. He was rushed to Denver for more intensive care where he’s been undergoing multiple surgeries for the last several weeks. While he’s getting the best care possible, it is going to take a lot of healing and time to get him better enough to come home. He is going to need all the help, prayers, and positive energy, and we will need to update his house considerably in order to make it accessible for him on his return. He is such an important part of this incredible community.

As most you of you know, Mikey is my adopted dad, and we all live together at the Rancho Miguel on the Elk River. What we all want is for him to come home, there is no other place he’d rather be. In order for that to happen, we will need update his home to create a more updated and accessible spaces. If for some reason he’s not able to come home or needs long term care, any donations will be used for that and to make him comfortable wherever that may be.

5/17 Update: After a huge improvement Sunday and Monday, Mikey spent the day making phone calls and talking to family and friends. This was a huge improvement from the previous week, when he couldn’t talk at all and was in a state called ICU delirium.

However early yesterday morning, he started having seizures and became unresponsive at which time the medical team intubated him. Matt and I are going down to see him now. He could use all of the prayers and positive thoughts.
