Help Captain Lima Rebuild After Storm Chantal

On July 6th 2025, Our area was hit hard by tropical storm Chantal. White Cross Fire Department along with many others in the area, responded and worked tirelessly through the night, saving flood victims and removing storm debris. Captain Lima was one of the many brave first responders that worked tirelessly to protect our community. Unfortunately, while out helping others all through the night, unknowingly to her that her own home was being flooded by the torrential downpours.

The area where she lives has never flooded before and when arriving home from working through tonight, the shock she felt seeing her life’s work ruined.

Since her home was not considered to be in a flood plane, she was not offered flood insurance.

As we now hope for a miracle the insurance will help cover some of the damages. We are hoping the community will help one of our own who has gave so much to us..

First off, we would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming generosity. I cannot express the gratitude and love, in enough words that you all have provided to one of our own. After speaking with Captain Lima, she has asked that we stopped collecting that way others maybe helped as well who are in need, which is a testament to her ethos, and always worrying about others. Spoken like a true firefighter. She cannot express how much she really appreciates the support during this time. As we have not had time to personally think everyone for the generosity. I promise you, you will hear from us.

In a world that is so upside down right now filled with hatred, stress, and sorrow, you have showed us there is a light and love left in this world. Your support is the true meaning of Matthew 22:39 , "And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself,"
