Help Captain Ange Sail Again

Donation protected
Ahoy, me hearties! Some of ye may have heard the news, but for those who haven't, brace yerselves for a tale of woe. Our beloved Captain Ange Simmo Simpson has been struck by a minor tragedy.

On his way back from Rabbits Eat Lettuce 24, towing the mighty Olive the Boat, he found himself in a brutal scuffle with a tree. Could've been a blown trailer tyre, or just rotten luck, but it's the kind of misfortune that could befall any of us. The Captain was cut out of his van and whisked away to the hospital by a whirlybird. He and his first mate are blessed to be alive, I tell ye. Not much left of the wreckage, save for two living souls. One, thankfully, escaped unscathed, but our Captain Ange took a nasty blow to his right leg. After a month of mending in the hospital, he's back home with his crew.

Did ye catch sight of the boat at REL 24'? 'Twas one of the finest spots and rigs to date – a right shame to end such a grand week in this manner.

The road to recovery be a treacherous one, with ups, downs, and sideways, but the sawbones are hopeful he'll be back on his feet in due time. Missed out on a pirate's wooden leg by a hair's breadth, he did!

Captain Ange has been the mastermind behind countless stellar shindigs across these vast lands and beyond, always puttin' the party and the makin' of a creative space for folks to revel in before his own desires. Never a truer thing said about Ange than this be a labour of love.

From gettin' the Wonky Queenslander shipshape to the 8 Mile Yacht Club's tireless efforts, he's toiled for our merriment without a thought for the time and coin he's sacrificed. Never askin' for a penny, he just gets to work… doin' the cool stuff. More a builder than an artist to the eye, but like many a burner, he's the perfect blend of both – a true creative doer. We need these salty dogs in our scene to keep the ship afloat, to inspire and lend a hand, and now it be our turn to rally behind him.

We don't make this plea lightly, knowin' times are tough for many. 'Tis a big ask, but if ye've had a grand time at an 8MYC or Wonky Party this past decade or so, or if ye've simply enjoyed his generosity (and are keen for more!), yer support will go a long way in gettin' him back on course.

Mark me words, once he's mended, the Captain and his crew will return. In time, when the dust settles, the 8 Mile Yacht Club will be lookin' for more joyous ways to get things shipshape again. But for now, this call is for the Captain – to keep him afloat during these trying times and to weather some losses.

Goes without sayin', we and he appreciate anything ye can spare, and what goes around comes around, as they say! 'Tis the spirit that matters, me hearties!

Fair winds,
8 Mile Yacht Club
