Many of you know my brother, “Capt. Jon,” as the devoted and highly respected captain of the No Limit out of Indian River, Delaware. But beyond the title and the boat, Jonathan is someone who has poured his entire heart into the water. Being a fishing captain isn’t an easy job. For years, he has worked tirelessly to build a life around the ocean, creating unforgettable memories for his customers and providing for himself and his crew through sheer grit, passion, and dedication.
Recently, while on a charter trip off the coast of North Carolina, the unthinkable happened when his boat sank.
By the grace of God and the quick actions of the crew and nearby boats, everyone made it home safely. For that, we are endlessly grateful. But while lives were spared, everything Jonathan has worked his whole life for was lost in a matter of moments.
This vessel wasn’t just a boat. It was his livelihood. It was his sole source of income. It represented years of sacrifice, long days, early mornings, financial risk, and an unwavering commitment to his craft. Losing it has been emotionally and financially devastating.
As a charter captain, Jonathan cannot simply “go back to work” without a boat. With it gone, he is unable to provide for himself or his crew, and the costs associated with replacing essential equipment, recovery efforts, and surviving this unexpected downtime are overwhelming.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help Jonathan rebuild not just a boat, but the life and career he has worked so hard to create. While insurance may be able to help with some costs, insurance unfortunately does not cover the entire loss nor does it cover any wages from loss of charter. Therefore, we are seeking assistance to supplement the loss of income and recovery costs that insurance will not cover. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping him get back on the water and back to doing what he loves. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time. It truly means everything to our family.
