Help Capstan Replace Stolen Gear

Hey friends. I can’t believe we are here writing this, but last night, just outside of Houston, Texas our trailer was broken into and roughly $7,000 worth of production gear was stolen.

We had stayed in a Wyndham Garden Inn just off Highway 249 (NEVER stay here) that had the entire back parking lot gated in, with the lots entrance that goes directly past the lobby’s front door. Never in a million years did we not expect this parking lot to be monitored securely (there were 24 hour surveillance signs posted on the back of the hotel facing the lot) but to our dismay woke up this morning to find the actual trailer latch to have been cut, and not the locks themselves. As a band who has always taken many precautions, we couldn’t believe this could happen, or it could happen in this circumstance especially.

We not only lost gear, but our photographer Dieter lost 18 or so months worth of photography work on hard drives from over the pandemic. None of that can be replaced. It truly is devastating for him in many more ways than it is for any of us. 600 days without shows and our careers, and 4 days in we get to deal with this mess.

We filed a police report but as the Sheriff said basically “good luck” we figured this is about the only way we could go to recover some or all of the loss gear. We cannot thank you all enough for the support in advance.
