Community care for Capri’s healing journey.

Capri is our neighbor horse—and a quiet, steady presence in our lives. Many of you have met her through our posts: her soft eyes, her calm nature, the way she seems to make the world feel a little gentler. She has helped me heal from cancer treatment side effects and loss of a dear friend to suicide. Now she needs help.

Recently, Capri was badly injured when her leg became tangled in a fence. While she survived the initial accident, complications require ongoing medical treatment, temporary placement at a specialized care facility, and home modifications to support her recovery.

Her family are loving, hardworking people who are doing everything they can. The cost of care is high. In the vet's words, "these injuries are very expensive." With community support, Capri has a real chance to heal. With this care, her chances of resuming a full life with her owner Viola are very good.

At Wild Homestead Living, we believe neighborliness is a radical act. This fundraiser is one small way we can show up for a family—and a horse—who have brought so much quiet good into the world.
