UPDATE:
-Surgery went well, time and rest are still a key factor to make full recovery.
-Surgery was rescheduled, the new date is 1/2/24.
A year ago, Cappuccino entered our lives in the most unexpected way. While driving on I-74 near the Bojangles Coliseum, we spotted a small, terrified kitten meowing desperately, pressed against the concrete dividers. We couldn’t leave him there. After turning around and rescuing him, we discovered he was just 5 months old.
We visited animal control and the humane society, but neither could take him in. Thankfully, a trip to the emergency vet confirmed he was okay aside from a few scratches. After searching for his owners for two months with no luck, we decided to give Cappuccino the home he deserved. He became part of our family, getting neutered, microchipped, and showered with love.
Recently, Cappuccino began limping. The diagnosis is patellar luxation in his left hind leg, and surgery has been recommended to improve his quality of life. The estimated cost is $4,000, which is a challenge for us as two elementary teachers with three beloved cats.
Cappuccino is a sweet, resilient soul who means the world to us. Any contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to getting him the care he needs. If you can’t donate, sharing our story would mean so much.
Thank you for helping Cappuccino! ❤️
