It's just me and my 3 dogs, but on a fine, beautiful, sunny day, July 30, 2025, I took my sweet boy Capone with me to walk to the mail. Something caught his eye, and if you know how fast a dachshund is, well, Capone went jetting out and ran. He went right out onto the side street of our home, and there was a car full of girls, and they were going fast. BOOM, my precious baby was hit. I watched it happen and screamed at them to stop, waving my hands, but they just kept going. I was in so much shock, I was on auto-pilot. I swooped him up and went running into the house and went right away down to Sumner Veterinary Hospital.

Well, after X-rays, they told me he would be fine to cast and let him heal. So, I took him to the vet on Sunday, and they told me it was not going to work with casting. He’s gonna need to have surgery. The problem is they want all the money upfront, and I just don't have it all upfront, so I am asking for help to make my baby better.

I've never done this before, and I really didn't want to. Part of me feels ashamed to have to do this, but I will do anything for someone I love!! So, I ask, please help me in this moment in time where I can't do it all. Thank you!
