Hi my name is Melissa, yesterday 01/06/2022 @ 5:15pm my sister’s dog, Canela got hit by a car in my neighborhood. We rushed her to the vet and they did some x-rays and she fractured her pelvis in 4 parts and needs a pelvic repair and locking screws. Thankfully the doctor says they can fix one side of her pelvis and the other side can heal on its own. Canela just turned 1yr old on Jan. 2, 2022. Honestly ANYTHING would help. Canela is a happy, loving, hyper puppy always happy and it just hurts seeing our baby like this. The lady that hit canela is refusing to pay the bills and surgery. I talked to a police officer and asked him for some advice and he said to talk to her civilly and we tried to but is refusing saying that Canela should have been on a leash. And we get that but this happened right in front of my house where the speed limit is 15mph. Like I said Canela is a very loving hyper puppy and my sister was outside with her in the front yard and Canela saw my neighbor’s kid and ran to her to play. My sister tried stopping the car before she got hit but unfortunately couldn’t get her attention. Times have been very tough for my family since COVID, my grandmother has been in a coma for over a year now and we can certainly use help. One person can only take so much.
