Help Candy Johnson Ruptured Aneurysm Survivor
Donation protected
Meet Candy Johnson a loving wife, mother, grandmother who lives in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Candy had been having severe headaches, nausea and vomiting during the week prior to being flown via helicopter to MUSC for emergency surgery. Unbeknownst to her and her husband Damon this was being caused by a leaking middle brain aneurysm.
On December 29th, 2020 she was flown to MUSC Charleston, SC for emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. Candy suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, aka subarachnoid stroke, in both frontal lobes and on the right side of brain.
This type of subarachnoid stroke effects physical abilities, speech, fine motor skills, cognitive brain function and personality.
Damon has remained by Candy’s side 24 hours a day during this time. Unfortunately he has to return to work while she remains at MUSC. As many of you know Candy had recently started a new job and had not reached the 90 day mark to qualify for medical insurance. Unfortunately the financial impact facing this family is astronomical.
Candy and Damon have a long road ahead of them. We’ve created this Go fund Me to seek support from friends, family and the community to help with medical/living expenses in the near future so they can concentrate on Candy’s recovery.
