Our father, Darren Paul McPheeters, passed away on June 29, 2025, due to complications following a motorcycle accident. He was 64 years old. Though he faced many personal battles throughout his life, it brings peace to know that his passing was not the result of those struggles, but an unexpected accident. Though he wrestled with personal demons, he took pride in being a father. He did his best with the tools he had and, even in estranged relationships, carried quiet hopes for healing and connection.
Now, my sister-daughter Hailee and I are faced with the unimaginable — planning his final goodbye while still grieving his loss and constant questioning of what could’ve been. We were not prepared for this, emotionally or financially. Life didn’t give us time to catch our breath before dropping everything into our laps: the arrangements, the costs, the pain, the two (out of 3) loving pups we decided to keep because we couldn’t find them homes and I'm pretty sure one has imprinted on me and he doesn't leave my side <3. But the truth is, we can’t do it alone. We’re humbly asking for help to cover his cremation and burial expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward his cremation, burial and getting the pups fixed and up to date on shots.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much and more importantly, we'd love to read stories you may have to share about our dad. Please share them below in the comment section or feel free to send them to us directly. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of this incredibly difficult chapter of our lives.
With love and gratitude,
Candice & Hailee
