Help Candace Lynn Find Relief from Chronic Pain

Donation protected
My name is Candace Lynn, and I live in Hartford, Wisconsin. All my life, I have dreamed of being a stay-at-home wife and mom who homeschools her kids. After 7 years, God gave my husband and I the blessing of miracle babies-twin girls. Ali & Fia are 12 years old now, and I just love being their mom! My dear husband is a pastor at our church, and also works two other jobs to help support our family in addition to doing all the cooking, cleaning, and homeschooling the girls. I was once the primary homeschool teacher and primarily ran the home, but my health has gradually declined to the point where I cannot be involved much at all anymore. I have struggled with my health all my life, but I am a fighter and a hard worker, and I was able to overcome a lot. However, I have been unable to work since 2019, and my health really took a major turn after having COVID in 2020. Fibromyalgia has been the hardest battle, but recently I was diagnosed with centralized pain syndrome, and I am finding that what was working with my fibromyalgia no longer provides much relief. Currently, I am bedbound about 95% of the time. Where once I was heavily involved in serving in our church, now I can barely attend once every 2-3 months. I am in agonizing pain most of the time. I am also battling a few other conditions, including polyneuropathy in my feet, chronic fatigue syndrome, severe brain fog, and several others. I desperately want to get back to a functioning life, to be able to serve my Lord, my family, and my friends.

A dear friend began researching when I received my latest diagnosis and found a therapy that we are very hopeful will help. It is called scrambler therapy, and it disrupts the abnormal pain signals, then sends signals of non-pain to the brain. Currently, my nervous system is very dysfunctional, sending out false and amplified pain signals (this includes several of my diagnoses). This therapy helps to retrain and reset the nervous system. If you'd like more information, there is a great explanation on the website of the place I would be getting this therapy. https://www.maxwellnesspainrelief.com/ After much prayer and research, we truly believe this is the next right step. We are encouraged to learn that this works for about 80% of patients! And if it doesn't work for me, I don't have to pay for treatment!

I am usually the first one to offer help and struggle immensely to ask for help. But I am learning to humbly accept the love and support that is being offered to me. (God has used this health journey to really grow me in many ways!) I have been encouraged by several good friends to create this fundraiser. I am asking for help with funds to make this scrambler therapy possible. I would be looking at 15-20 sessions over 3-4 weeks. I would know within the first week whether this is going to work for me, and if it doesn't work, I don't have to pay and would move on to other treatment plans. This scrambler therapy would require me to stay up in Oshkosh for that 3-4 week period, assuming it does begin to work within that first week. Justin (my hubby) is unable to go with me, as he cannot take that time off work. My mother-in-love has graciously offered to travel in from PA, stay with me for the duration of treatment, and drive me to and from appointments. I am very cautious to drive myself, only doing so when I know 100% that I will be safe, so I need this help in transportation.

I am looking at expenses as follows:

Treatment: $300/session x 15-20 sessions = $4500-6000
Place to stay: $1500-4000 (I'm still researching this, but this ranges from a month-long lease in an apartment, AirBnB/VRBO, hotels)
Food: I will have a kitchenette at the least and can prepare meals for the most part, but there will be some meals out
Gas: I will stay in Oshkosh for the duration of treatment, so around $60 for me. However, Justin will travel up and back several times to be with me for certain days of treatment. He will also need to bring the girls back and forth. They will need to be home with him some, as he does their homeschooling lessons (some can be done online, but sometimes not). At the same time, we don't want them to stay at home alone all week while he works. So we'd like to split their time between home and being with Grammy and me in Oshkosh. I'm guessing around $160 in gas for Justin.
Total: I have estimated $10,000 total for this treatment. However, God has already worked in some people's hearts, and we have already received some generous gifts toward treatment. We are so incredibly thankful. We have spent more money than I can count through the years, and this treatment simply would not be possible for years without the help.

Note: GoFundMe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. All the other fundraising platforms charge the same amount. If you would prefer to avoid these charges, other options include PayPal, Venmo, checks, or cash. Please contact me for further details.

I appreciate you taking time to read this long explanation, as I want to be very transparent. I first ask for your prayers that I may find some answers and relief, as well as for my family for strength and encouragement. This has been an incredibly difficult time for all of us, as I have been in chronic pain for over 2 decades, with the worst decline since 2020. Secondly, I appreciate any donation that you are able to give to help me get this treatment. No matter what, may all praise and glory go to God, our loving and wonderful Father!
