Help cancer stricken dad and fund research

Donation protected

UPDATE: Thank you to dear donors who've brought over $1,000, very much appreciated, although we're still working to teach our goal.  Inspired by cancer survivor/civilian astronaut Hayley Arceneaux, I'm a dad whose cancer has spread despite radiation, surgery and chemo and I've independently created a modest "mini-version" of the charitable aspect of her flight. I seek help in funding a weightless jet (zero gravity) flight with my son with sums here helping defray much of his flight cost and sums above that goal slated for UCLA's Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.  As a reporter, I was aboard a weightless flight last year and my son dearly hoped to do this with me while we can still do so as father and son together.  I advanced the sun personally and need help to reach our roughly $5000 goal (not using sums that support LBREPORT.com operations) and sums above that goal to support the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.  (This isn't arranged through the Jonsson Center; it's my personal initiative.)

I learned too late that esophageal cancer often starts with heartburn, is the fastest increasing cancer diagnosis among American men, fewer than one in five patients survive five years, one American dies from it every 36 minutes and it is among cancers receiving the least amount of  federal research funding.  This was  (literally) a once in a lifetime chance for my son and me and to support anti-cancer research affecting countless others.  Thank you for helping leave my son with an unforgettable memory and fund the Jonsson Cancer Center's work to end this scourge in his lifetime, if not mine.
