Cam is my 25-year-old son, and he’s always amazed me with his determination and heart. Born with one hand, Cam has never let anything hold him back. He’s outperformed his peers in everything he’s tried, from playing saxophone in school bands to excelling as a punter and kicker with real collegiate promise—until injuries cut that dream short. Now, he works tirelessly with a yard company to support his wife and their two young children, while his wife cleans condos and homes to help make ends meet.
Last year, Cam and I wanted to do something special together—a father and son upgrade to his 2018 Dodge Challenger. We’d worked on his old Mustang years ago, and this was a chance to bond again over our shared love of cars. But things went wrong when a local mechanic, who promised to help, ended up installing a broken part that caused major engine damage. Cam paid for help and bought new parts, but the car was left in worse shape. We’ve spent months and all our resources trying to fix it, selling my own project car and pawning what we could, but every time we think we’re close, another setback hits. Now, the shop says Cam needs a whole new engine, which we simply can’t afford.
Cam is the finest man I know. He loves his family deeply and just wanted to do something meaningful with his dad. After nearly a year without his car, and with all our resources gone, we’re reaching out for help. If you can support Cam and his family, it would mean the world to us. Your kindness can help them get back on their feet and restore hope after a long, difficult journey.
