On September 16, Camron Bowen celebrated his 16th birthday — his Golden Birthday.

Just three days later, on September 19, his family’s world was shattered when Camron’s life was tragically taken in a shooting in Milwaukee.

Camron was only 16 years old.

He was a son. A brother. A grandson. A friend. He was somebody’s baby and someone deeply loved by so many people.

His mother, Jenny, is now facing the unimaginable pain of losing her son while trying to be there for his siblings and hold her family together.

And now, just months after losing their mother and grandmother earlier this spring, this family is facing another unimaginable loss.

I have known this family my entire life, and watching them go through this is absolutely heartbreaking. There are no words that can prepare a mother for having to bury her child, especially when she should still be watching him grow, celebrating his birthdays, and looking forward to everything his future was supposed to hold.

While Jenny and her family are grieving, they are also facing the reality of funeral and burial expenses and the many unexpected costs that come with losing someone so suddenly.

The last thing a mother should have to worry about while grieving her child is how she is going to afford to lay him to rest.

That is why I am asking our community to come together for Jenny and her family.

Camron deserves justice. His family deserves answers.
