On a day that was supposed to be a birthday celebration for Cindy Camp, instead it quickly turned devastating. The power went out, the smoke detector went off, and a wall burst into flame. 911 was called. Their son tried using a fire extinguisher but it did not stop the fire. They were able to get out along with the dog but only with the clothes on their backs. Fire services responded on scene fast but the flame quickly spread. My parents and my brother left with nothing. The report has been the home is a total loss—gone in an instant. Right now, their church has graciously provided them with temporary shelter, but we know this is only a very short-term solution. The reality of starting over from scratch is overwhelming, and we’re still trying to process where to begin.
Thank you to those who have already shown support from our family, neighbors, and church family. People have reached out with water, meals, and words of encouragement in the immediate moments. Thanks for reminding us that we’re not alone. We’re deeply grateful for every act of kindness, and it’s given us hope to look ahead to rebuilding our lives.
We’re asking for help for funds to replace essentials and secure a new place to live. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference as we work to get back on our feet. Thank you for considering a gift to help our family move forward after this devastating loss.
