Camille’s Story
Camille Petree’s life changed in an instant — but her story is one of faith, hope, and unwavering love.
At just 13 years old, Camille is an eighth grader at St. Aloysius in Baton Rouge who loves Dancing with the Stars, playing basketball, volleyball, and spending time with her friends. She’s the beloved daughter of Kieffer and Carson and proud big sister to Jackson. Her bright smile and joyful spirit light up every room she enters.
What Happened
On October 1st 2025, Camille suffered a sudden brain stem stroke — a medical emergency so rare in someone her age that it stunned doctors and loved ones. Overnight, her world was turned upside down.
Through every moment of fear and uncertainty, her parents have shown extraordinary courage and faith, trusting God to guide them step by step through this unimaginable journey.
The Road to Recovery
After receiving critical care at Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Camille was transported to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, where her rehabilitation journey has just begun. She is receiving highly specialized therapy designed to give her the best possible chance at recovery.
Kieffer and Carson are staying nearby at the Ronald McDonald House, devoted to being at Camille’s side every day as she begins this long and challenging road ahead.
Why We’re Raising Funds
In addition to her insurance coverage Camille will probably require other unknown care. The therapy she’s receiving right now is absolutely essential to her future — every session helps her rebuild strength, relearn movements, and regain independence.
