Help Camila Get a Car to Save the Strays of Puerto Rico

Hi everyone, my name is Camila Martinez. I am 21 years old and just moved to Puerto Rico for college. Although I am in school, I plan on using my free time to make a difference here on the island. I have a huge heart, especially when it

comes to animals! I even have a 9-month-old Pitbull who I saved while I lived in Pennsylvania (picture above), as well as 7 cats that are strays that my family and I feed and try to take care of in PR (cats pictured above).

That being said, if you aren’t aware, here in Puerto Rico there is a MASSIVE amount of stray dogs and cats on the island. It truly breaks my heart seeing so many of these animals suffering. Lots of these animals roam around the island without any shots, leading to them contracting various diseases. These diseases go untreated; therefore, the animal is left suffering. For the animals that luckily don’t get sick, they sadly often lack proper nutrients and/or are dehydrated due to the very hot temperatures on the island and the lack of food they get.

My plan is to raise money so I can get a vehicle here in Puerto Rico. I am working with a rescue organization that covers the finically aspect of animal treatment, however, they need actually rescuers with vehicles to travel the island. I am trying to get a vehicle by any means possible so I can help as many animals as I can. With everyone's help, I think we can truly make a huge difference. I plan on using all donations to purchase a vehicle and make a huge difference on the island and for these animals. I will be documenting my entire experience with everyone on all social media platforms so everyone can join me on this journey. Every single penny helps these animals. This change is NEEDED! ¡Viene a los animales! Incluso tengo un Pitbull de 9 meses que salvé mientras vivía en Pensilvania (foto de arriba), así como 7 gatos callejeros que mi familia y yo alimentamos y tratamos de cuidar en PR (gatos en la foto de arriba).

Dicho esto, si no lo sabes, aquí en Puerto Rico hay una ENORME cantidad de perros y gatos callejeros en la isla. Realmente me rompe el corazón ver sufrir a tantos de estos animales. Muchos de estos animales deambulan por la isla sin ninguna vacuna, lo que les lleva a contraer varias enfermedades. Estas enfermedades no se tratan; por lo tanto, el animal se queda sufriendo. Para los animales que afortunadamente no se enferman, lamentablemente a menudo carecen de nutrientes adecuados y/o están deshidratados debido a las altas temperaturas en la isla y la falta de comida que obtienen.

Mi plan es recaudar dinero para poder conseguir un vehículo aquí en Puerto Rico. Estoy trabajando con una organización de rescate que cubre el aspecto final del tratamiento de animales, sin embargo, en realidad necesitan rescatistas con vehículos para viajar por la isla. Estoy tratando de conseguir un vehículo por cualquier medio posible para poder ayudar a tantos animales como pueda. Con la ayuda de todos, creo que realmente podemos marcar una gran diferencia. Planeo usar todas las donaciones para comprar un vehículo y marcar una gran diferencia en la isla y para estos animales. Documentaré toda mi experiencia con todos en todas las plataformas de redes sociales para que todos puedan acompañarme en este viaje. Cada centavo ayuda a estos animales. ¡Este cambio es NECESARIO!
