Hola, mi nombre es Susan, y hoy quiero compartir con ustedes amigos, compañeros y conocidos míos y de mi hija Camila una situación muy difícil que estamos atravesando.

El pasado 6 de junio, en la ciudad de Durham, Carolina del Norte, un hombre en aparente estado de ebriedad impactó violentamente el vehículo de mi hija. El choque fue tan fuerte que el carro de Camila dio varias vueltas y quedó completamente destruido. Ella sufrió múltiples contusiones físicas, quemaduras, dificultades para caminar, problemas respiratorios, y un fuerte estado de shock por lo vivido.

En el lugar del accidente llegaron patrullas de policía, un sheriff y una ambulancia. Por la gravedad del impacto, aceptamos que fuera trasladada al hospital, donde le realizaron radiografías y diversos exámenes para descartar daños internos.

Lamentablemente a pesar de mi hija haber sido la perjudicada el sherif emitio un parte a favor del senor que perjudico a mi hija, lo que ha hecho que los gastos médicos y la pérdida total de su vehículo —su único medio de transporte— no sean cubiertos por ningún seguro.

Para quienes no la conocen, Camila es una joven responsable, trabajadora, respetuosa, de principios firmes y un ser humano maravilloso. Ella se esta preparando profesionalmente, y solo nos tenemos las 2 para apoyarnos, pero esta situación nos ha sobrepasado emocional y económicamente.

Por eso, hoy apelo a su solidaridad y les pido humildemente cualquier colaboración que puedan ofrecer para ayudarnos a cubrir parte de estos gastos médicos. Camila está devastada por lo que está viviendo, pero doy gracias a Dios de que esté con vida. El accidente pudo haber tenido un desenlace mucho peor, y no fue así porque confiamos profundamente en que Dios no abandona a quienes obran con bien.

Les voy a compartir los detalles de los gastos del hospital, y aún estamos esperando los costos del servicio de ambulancia. Apenas los tengamos, los actualizaremos aquí para que todo sea lo más transparente posible. Gracias por su apoyo.

Hello, my name is Susan, and today I want to share with you—friends, colleagues, and loved ones of both myself and my daughter Camila—a very difficult situation we are going through.

On June 6th, in Durham, North Carolina, a man who appeared to be under the influence crashed violently into my daughter’s car. The impact was so strong that Camila’s vehicle flipped multiple times and was completely destroyed. She suffered multiple bruises, burns, difficulty walking, breathing issues, and was left in a deep state of shock from the traumatic experience.

Police patrols, a sheriff, and an ambulance arrived at the scene. Because of the severity of the crash, we agreed she should be transported to the hospital, where she underwent X-rays, a CT scan, and several tests to rule out internal injuries.

Unfortunately, even though my daughter was the one harmed, the sheriff’s report ended up favoring the man who caused the accident. As a result, neither her medical expenses nor the total loss of her car—her only means of transportation—will be covered by any insurance.

For those of you who don’t know her, Camila is a responsible, hardworking, respectful young woman with strong values and a beautiful heart. She is currently studying and working hard to build a better future. It’s just the two of us supporting each other, and this situation has overwhelmed us both emotionally and financially.

That’s why today I turn to your generosity and ask for any contribution you may be able to offer to help us cover some of the medical costs. Camila is devastated by everything she’s going through, but I thank God every day that she is still alive. This accident could have ended in a tragedy, but it didn’t—because I truly believe God doesn’t abandon those who act with kindness.

I will be sharing the details of the hospital expenses, and we are still waiting for the ambulance bill. As soon as we receive it, we will update everything here to keep things as transparent as possible. Thank you for your support.
