Help Camila with her Scoliosis treatment-Brace
Donation protected
Hi everybody! My name is Camila and I'm writing this hoping that someone out there might be able to help. I have been diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis, and the doctors say that the curvature of my spine must be corrected as soon as possible to avoid life-long complications with pain and disfiguration because as a thirteen year old girl, I still have time to grow and for the curvature to get worse too.
My mom has spoken with a specialist who says that with intensive therapy, a customized scoliosis brace, and close x-ray monitoring, I can avoid a very expensive spinal correction surgery that could possibly hurt me more than it helps.
The specialist has suggested an intensive care program with a duration of 17 hours of treatment and 2 days for bracing adjustments and fitting that costs $4,675.00, and the Gensingen Cheneau Style Brace that it's going to be custom made and designed in Germany with a price of $4,450.00. The scoliosis center is in Massachusetts, so there will be travel expenses as well, estimated at around $3,000 between food, gas, transportation to and from the hotel to the center, and lodging for ten days.
My parents are trying to get a loan to cover the expenses, and they will update this page with any information based on what they are or are not approved for.
I am very thankful that you have taken the time to read this, and I thank anyone and everyone in advance who can help in any way!
