A few months ago, doctors discovered multiple nodules on my thyroid, requiring a biopsy. The results were positive for papillary carcinoma -a type of slow growing thyroid cancer. My treatment plan requires surgery to remove the entire thyroid and follow up with radioactive iodine to help chances of reoccurence stay as low as possible.

I have been a self-employed freelance designer for a few years and just started working full-time. As you can imagine- this is an incredibly stressful financial burden on top of having cancer. Every dollar will go toward traveling for treatment, scans, testing, surgery and hospital bills.
