My son Cameron is going through something no child should have to face. On September 5th, he suffered a 50% collapsed lung on his left side, which meant he needed an 18-inch tube inserted into his side. Just as he was starting to heal from the nerve damage, his lung collapsed again on January 23rd. This time, the doctors had to perform surgery, scraping the lung lining, stapling the blebs at the top of his lung, and attaching it back to the chest wall. The pain Cameron feels every day is unimaginable—just wearing a shirt can make it feel raw and mushy. He’s such a kind and passionate kid with a big heart for others, so seeing him in pain is incredibly hard for me as his mom. He’s been so brave, but he’s also scared, asking me if his lung might collapse again while he sleeps.
We have to return for multiple check-ups and follow-up appointments to make sure Cameron is healing well, and the costs are adding up quickly. The funds raised will help us cover travel and medical expenses, as well as the time I need to take off work to be with him in the hospital and at appointments. If you can spare any amount, it would help us so much during this awful time. Thank you for your kindness and support. Sincerely, Crystal Vann.
