Hi everyone, my name is Cameron Bica, and thank you for taking a moment to read my story. This March, I have the opportunity to join Mission Discovery and my school, Long Island Lutheran High School, on a mission trip to Naranjito, Puerto Rico. We’ll be helping rebuild homes, churches, and schools, and bringing essential supplies to families who are still recovering from devastating storms. This mission means so much to me personally. My family is from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and when Hurricane Maria hit, my grandpa and many of his church friends suffered damage and loss. It was the kindness of missionaries — strangers who showed up with love and tools in their hands — that helped them rebuild and find hope again. Their generosity left a huge impact on me, and now I feel called to give back in the same way.
To take part in this mission, I need to raise funds to cover travel costs and the supplies we’ll use to serve the community. Any donation, big or small, will help me get there and allow you to be part of this mission with me. Your support means more than you know — it helps me follow a calling, honor my family’s story, and share hope with others who need it. Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for believing in the power of helping others. – Cameron
