Hi!

My name is Cameron, I am Deaf and I love football. I have been playing since I was 4 years old and I have played in local and national teams.

My greatest achievement was to be selected to play for the Wales Deaf men’s team in a Europe wide competition in Turkey (2024). It was a great experience where I got pushed to my limit and I played my heart out for the team. I got to meet new people, be exposed to different cultures and make friends for life.

I have now been selected to play for the Great Britain under 23s Deaf team in 2026. We will be competing at the Under 23s World Deaf Football Championship in Serbia.

However, I need some help to make this dream a reality. The costs of travel, accommodation, training and registration are more than I can manage alone. I need to pay £2,500 to participate in the games and it is a huge amount of money for me. I am so excited that my brother, Zachary, has also been selected for the team this year. This is excellent news but it means we have £5,000 to raise in our family, so the target feels even bigger.

Although the UK government offers extensive support to para sport (like the Paralympics), there is no funding available for Deaf sport at the elite or grassroots levels. That is why we need to do our own fundraising to participate in international competitions.
