Hey, folks. For those who don't know me, my name's Cameron Lyle. I'm an educator who has been working with Children with Special Needs for almost 30 years.
Even if you do know me, what you might not know is that my wisdom teeth never came in. Or rather, they *appeared* under my gums, but because of the size and shape of my mouth they broke apart while still inside my gums.
I've had tooth fragments under my gums inside of abscesses for several years now, because I've never been able to afford to get them taken care of. Occasionally one of them gets infected and swells, but they pretty much *always* hurt a little. My dentist was legitimately amazed they hadn't caused even more issues up until now.
I have dental insurance, but it will only cover a fraction of the cost - it's dental surgery, but more complicated than just a normal removal because individual tooth fragments have to be removed. I'm looking for a total of $3k, which is the cost minus what my insurance will cover.
Anyhow, this year for my 51st birthday (my birthday is one of the few times I feel okay asking most folks for things) I'd like to *finally* get this taken care of. Given the state of the economy, I feel like most folks won't have much to give, so I'm hoping that with crowdfunding a whole lot of people will be able to give just a small amount.
Thanks for everything! If we're already friends, thanks for being in my life, and if you're a stranger I appreciate that you're willing to entertain helping a complete stranger! Thank you!
