*Help Cameron Care for Beloved Feline Friend Tom!*

In the heart of Raleigh, NC, near NC State University, a special bond exists between Cameron Harper and Tom, a lovable stray cat. Tom belongs to a colony of stray cats that are part of a trap-neuter-return program. After moving into his apartment in 2022, Cameron spends some of his free time gaining the trust of this colony; he and Tom have formed a special bond. When Cameron comes home from work, Tom looks forward to greeting his hooman friend.

On Monday, February 9, 2026, Cameron was not greeted by Tom, when getting home from work that evening; which caused him to worry about Tom’s welfare. The next day, Tom showed up with an injured foot. Cameron was able to get Tom in a box to take him to a clinic, but Tom managed to escape. Stray cats are not used to car rides! On Wednesday, a friend loaned Cameron a carrier and Tom was taken to a clinic in Durham, NC. Upon examination, the vet said that Tom had a puncture wound in his paw and a few "beans" (toes) that were dislocated – likely the result of a territorial dispute with a new cat in the area. Cameron almost depleted his bank account to provide Tom with the necessary care. The vet bill was a significant burden for Cameron, who is currently working a seasonal, temporary job. Tom's road to recovery requires additional medical attention, including follow-up visits and updating his necessary rabies shot.

As a parent, it's heartbreaking to see my son struggle to make ends meet while caring for his feline buddy. Your contribution will help:

· Cover Tom's medical bills
· Ensure Cameron can continue to care for Tom without financial stress

If you're able to spare a few dollars, please consider donating to help Tom receive the care he needs and support Cameron during this challenging time. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal. Let's come together to help Cameron and Tom!
