Help Camden March His Age Out at Boston!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Camden Tetrick and I am Fundraising to help assist my ability to march my final season of Drum Corps as part of the Boston Crusaders Colorguard! Colorguard has been a very important part of my life and it has helped mold me into the person I am today. Marching has helped me find soo much love in my life as well as friends that have become my family. Being a part of the marching arts community has inspired my love and passion for dance and performing. Being a part of this beautiful activity has helped educate me on my craft and allowed me to travel the country and perform for thousands across the past 6 years in my marching career.

I marched my first season of Drum Corps in 2021 with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps which was an amazing experience going on tour and meeting hundreds of the most talented musicians and performers in the activity! After one season in 2021, I was instantly hooked and wanted the next summer to come as fast as it could so I can go back. I also bring the very hungry learner and competitor I am, wanted not only to march again but to do so in one of the top organizations in the country. This was my dream to march with the Bluecoats, a corps that not only have won multiple championships but to be at the pinnacle of marching music's major league. In November 2021 I flew out to California by myself to audition in hopes of being offered a contract the following summer and in a miracle I was offered a rare spot and contract to march with them. Soon after though, I realized the situation I had put myself in. The reality is marching and accepting a contract to tour comes with a very big financial cost because of the fees not only to house, facilitate, and feed members through the summer but also the cost of touring the country itself in a group of a few hundred across at least a dozen states performing. I was working through that year but also paying for my winter guard season at Malachi (an independent organization that competes in the WGI season) and the cost of both was just far too great to afford so I had to make the tough choice to not accept my contract for that summer in DCI.

So with no 2022 summer season, I worked through the summer and changed my goals to focus on the upcoming WGI and DCI seasons. Life went on with a few hiccups as life does but I still had very high expectations of what I wanted to do and if I was going to march. DCI has an age limit for performers up to the age of 21 and in just a few more weeks I will be turning 21 meaning that this would be my last possible year to do again the thing I love.

With my high goals for myself, I wanted and still want my last year to be the very best at what I love. I chose to audition this year for the Boston Crusaders which are the peak pinnacle of colorguard in the world of DCI. This color guard has been a three-time competitive consecutive George Zingali Best Color Guard Award in DCI. This past November two friends and I (one of them being a veteran of the BACG from 2022) chose to fly out to Indianapolis, Indiana for one of the Colorguard audition camps in hopes to have the privilege to march with the best. I had my hopes optimistic but still set low in hopes of even receiving a callback for the April audition camp. I was ecstatic to learn at the end of the camp they had extended me a contract to march with them! I am so grateful and thankful for this opportunity and I know I won't let them down for believing in me and my abilities and potential.

But now with this great opportunity, I am in a tough situation to still currently need a little financial help to help make this dream a possibility this summer. I have applied for multiple scholarships but without counting too much on the possibilities of these scholarships I would also like to ask for some help from yall to donate. I wouldn't be able to do anything without the support of my friends in this activity as well as most importantly my family. Regardless of your choice to donate, thank you for being a part of my life and a part of my journey to better my education in my passion as well as for your support.

BONUS: below are some Pictures of me marching enjoying my craft and those who have been a part of touching my heart through it.

I also HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you all to click on some of these links relating to Drum Corps and the experience of marching as well as posting links to some of my past and current winter and summer shows.
