Can you help Camden Carers, to make a difference to the lives of Unpaid Carers?

Camden Carers provides vital support to adult unpaid carers in Camden, including those living, working, or studying in the borough, or caring for someone within it. This year marks our 30th anniversary, and to commemorate this we aim to raise £30,000, starting at the beginning of Carer’s Week (10th June 2024). This funding will enable us to continue to provide essential services and support to unpaid carers.

You can help in two ways:

1) Engage in discussions, share our cause, and donate to our fundraiser. Let's raise awareness about the challenges faced by unpaid carers and recognise their invaluable contributions to families and communities.

2) Get creative with fundraising ideas! Whether it's organising themed dress-up days or participating in a 5k run, every effort counts. Your support can have a profound impact on those who give their time caring for others.

Unpaid carers in England and Wales save taxpayers £162 billion annually, equivalent to NHS funding in 20/21. With social care funding falling short, the reliance on unpaid carers has increased.

Oluwa, is unpaid carer, who cares for her brother who has schizophrenia. Through Camden Carers, she was granted a much-needed respite break. Tom is another unpaid carer, he has been caring since he was 15, it took him over 4 years to realise he was an unpaid carer and ask for support for himself. He lives with his mother, who has dementia. Through Camden Carers, he has accessed our support and wellbeing services. Kriti, is an unpaid carer, who is also a working mum. She feels isolated, as her world revolves around her autistic 5-year-old daughter. Through Camden Carers, she has met other parents who are facing similar challenges.

There are over 14,600 unpaid carers in the borough of Camden who need our support. Your contribution, regardless of size, can make an impact on the health and wellbeing of our unpaid carers.
