Emergency Rent Support to Prevent Housing Loss

Cam has had to deal with a tough situation over the holidays: Her former roommates abruptly left their dwelling, although this didn’t transpire with malicious intent. Cam is now solely responsible for a significant amount of back rent that is not entirely her own. As many of you know this more permanent living situation has had a profound impact on cams well being.

The Immediate Need

The landlady requires $4500 to cover:

    •  The unpaid rent left behind by the previous tenants

    •  Security deposits for Grace and Logan to officially move in

This payment is required by January 7, as the landlord is leaving for China on January 8. Without this payment, Cam risks losing her first apartment in New York City, and incoming roommates Logan and Grace will also be left without housing.

Grace and Logan are coming to take the rooms and help Cam with this situation that has been presented. All three have experienced periods of housing instability, but they have been actively working to rebuild their lives and create long-term stability.

Cam has worked extremely hard to secure her first apartment in New York City. Since moving in, she has consistently paid her rent on time and taken her responsibilities seriously, and only a small percentage of the owed rent (<10%) is attributable to Cam herself, and is not entirely included in this gofundme.

Every donation will go directly toward keeping this apartment and ensuring that Cam, Grace, and Logan can move forward safely and securely.

Thank you for helping three people who are doing everything they can to build their lives and support each other, and the community they are in.
