Help Calvince Build a Permaculture Center

My name is Laurie Maloney and I have started this gofundme on behalf of my friend Calvince Ochieng Odero,  his wife Rose, and their family. Calvince lives in Kenya, Africa where he works as a teacher of permaculture to all who will come and learn.

Calvince has a soft spot in his heart for the children who he loves to teach how to plant and grow vegetable and fruit crops using permaculture techniques. He also teaches competitive sports to children of all ages. 

Calvince learned to provide for himself and his brothers at a young age when both his parents died when he was a teenager. Before they died they made sure there was a home for Calvince and his brothers to study and continue their education.  Calvince, Rose and his children now live in this 16 year old mud house, which are common in Kenya, however time and the elements have taken their toll and the home has become unsafe. The next strong rainstorm could cause the home to collapse. You can see how the mud has worn away from the entranceway of the house in the picture. Its like this about 3 feet up all the way around the house.

Calvince has taken steps to begin construction on a new home for his family, but as a farmer in Kenya he is unable to afford the expense. He has cleared a location on his property for the house and hand made all the necessary bricks so the house will be stronger this time, but there are many more expenses. 

Calvince is a hard working man of God who cares for his family and community and is the first person to help whenever there is a need. Please help build him and his family a new home by donating to this gofundme.
