Help Save Calvin: Our Sweet Orange Kitty Needs Life-Saving Surgery

Almost eight years ago, Angelina found Calvin as a tiny kitten, so small he could fit in the palm of her hand. From that moment on, he became family.

Calvin has always been full of life—energetic, affectionate, and incredibly healthy. If you've ever met him, you know he's impossible not to love. He eats absolutely everything (just like Garfield!), makes friends with everyone he meets, loves playing with his sister, Hennessy, and is always ready to curl up for a cuddle. His goofy personality and adorable sideways head tilt have captured the hearts of everyone who knows him.

To Angelina and William, Calvin isn't "just a cat." He is their best friend, their comfort, and a cherished member of their family.

On June 19, our world changed.

Calvin suddenly developed a urinary blockage and had to be rushed to the emergency veterinarian. He underwent emergency treatment and had a catheter placed to relieve the obstruction. Thankfully, the procedure worked, and the relief was almost immediate. He quickly returned to his happy, loving self.

The veterinarian explained that urinary blockages are unfortunately common in male cats—especially orange males—because of the narrow shape of their urethra.

Just one week later, our worst fear became reality.

Calvin suffered another blockage.

Emergency catheterizations are only temporary. The only long-term solution is a surgery called a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU). This procedure creates a wider, straighter urinary opening, dramatically reducing the risk of future blockages and giving Calvin the opportunity to live the long, healthy life he deserves.

Without this surgery, Calvin is at high risk for repeated blockages that are not only incredibly painful but can become life-threatening within hours.

Angelina and William are both college students working hard toward their degrees while balancing jobs and everyday expenses. Like many young adults, they simply don't have thousands of dollars set aside for an unexpected emergency like this. They are doing everything they can to save the cat who has brought them so much love, laughter, and companionship over the past eight years.

We're asking for help because Calvin deserves the chance to keep living the happy, playful life he loves.
