Callum is my nephew. Callum has a rare genetic diagnosis called TUBA1A, which affects his balance, mobility, muscle control, coordination, speech and epilepsy. He also has scoliosis.
Despite all of this, Callum is the happiest, most sociable little boy who adores people and works incredibly hard for every milestone.
Intensive therapy has made a huge difference to his progress. Callum can now stand independently for a few minutes, take up to 17 independent steps and use seven Makaton signs — achievements we are incredibly proud of.
Between now and Christmas, Callum has seven weeks of intensive theraphy planned, four of physiotherapy, three weeks of Occupational Therapy and two weeks of Speech and Language Therapy planned, all focused on helping him become stronger, more mobile, communicate and gain greater independence.
These intensive therapies are not available to Callum through NHS services alone, so fundraising remains incredibly important.
Every donation and share helps us give Callum the opportunity to keep progressing, find his voice and become as independent as possible.
Thank you for continuing to support Callum’s Journey.
