Help Callum to see again
Donation protected
Callum was a young and healthy boy with no medical history, then a week after his 18th birthday Callum was rushed to hospital after being found having multiple seizures in his room. The hospital discovered Callum was in stage 5 kidney failure with 2 holes in his heart, fluid around the brain and eyes, all this caused his blood pressure to go extremely high which has caused the retinas in both eyes to detach. Colchester hospital haven't been much help in trying to regain Callums sight back as they have said the prognosis is poor and can't guarantee a positive outcome. The longer the retinas are left detached its unlikely for a full recovery so we have researched Moorefields private eye hospital in London. We couldn't get an NHS appointment without a referral which the hospital haven't done even after us asking them. The opticians have referred but wasn't accepted it had to be sent by a hospital. We have a private consultation on Monday the 12th August and will hopefully go onto private treatment to regain his sight.
