Help Callum pay his bills after his job didn't pay him.

Hey all, I feel awful setting up this, but I literally have no other options available.

As most of you know, I got a job back in the animation/VFX industry last year after a long period of odd jobs/quick freelance gigs at The Mill. I was finally feeling a little more calm, starting to pay back debt to my parents, until last weekend.

The parent company of The Mill, Techicolor, went into administration, and all of us around the world found out yesterday that we were redundant with immediate action, on payday no less. The worst part?

THEY AREN'T PAYING ANY OF US FOR OUR WORK THE LAST MONTH.

This has left every single one of us shocked, and scrambling for new work. however, given the state of the industry, and my last period between my professional jobs, I don't know how soon it will be until I find new work.
As a result, I'm now in my overdraft, with no way to pay my rent in 3 days time, let alone other bills.

The government will eventually mail us case numbers to apply for any outstanding pay, however there is no time estimate on this, and there's no gaurantee that they'll pay me exactly what I'm owed. Speaking to colleagues who have been through this before, they will most likely be prioritising investors in being paid back from the liquidation of Technicolor, rather than the employees.

So frankly, I need your help with my funds for the next month. Even if you can give mt a fiver, it will mean the difference between affording food one day or the other. More importantly, it will mean the world to me personally.
I've set up the goal of £1900 ultimately (what I would earn each month after tax). The main things I need to pay are:

  • Rent and Bills for the house (£920)
  • Food bills (£260)
  • Travel (£100)
  • Other subscriptions to software (£100)
  • The remainder is for savings, and potentially covering what Universal Credit won't cover next month (£520)

In the meantime, I'm already working on applying to local bar jobs, industry work again, literally anything that will keep me afloat for the forseeable future. I don't ask this lightly, but I really have no other option right now. Bills are due before the end of this week, and I won't get any form of outstanding pay anytime soon.

Please share this around as much as possible. I've loved my last 5 years in London, and can't leave it anytime soon. The majority of the industry is based here.

If you can't afford to help out, I don't expect you to. But if you still want to help regardless, you can add me on LinkedIn. Even better, if you work in ANY creative Industry and you know someone who is looking for a production assistant, coordinator, or even an office manager, give me a message on there. It will mean the world to me if people interact with this in any way honestly.

Love you all, and it will pass, I know that much :)
