I recently found two geriatric outdoor cats, Callie and Hunter, who need help. Callie is a calico, and Hunter is an orange longhair. After leaving a note near where they were staying, a kind neighbor who has been feeding them for years reached out to me. She shared that an older woman, about 80 years old, wants to keep the cats but is having a hard time capturing them. Both cats are fixed, but they haven’t had recent vet checkups or vaccinations, and Hunter is suffering from severe matting that needs medical attention. At approximately 16 years old, these cats are vulnerable and need to be treated for any health issues they may have.
Hunter is especially in rough shape, with his matting dragging and causing discomfort. The funds raised will help cover the food to safely capture Callie and Hunter and all necessary veterinary care. This includes checkups, vaccinations, and Hunter’s matting removal. With your support, we can ensure they are healthy, safe from local wildlife, and ready to go home to the woman who wants to care for them. Your kindness will make a real difference in their lives and help them find a safe, loving home.
I’m asking for your generosity and compassion to help Callie and Hunter get the care they need. Please join us in this rescue and be part of their hopeful future. Every donation, no matter the size, will help these sweet cats on their journey to safety and love.
All invoices will be posted. We would like to have the funding before taking the cats to the vet. You can call the Montgomery County SPCA directly and request to donate to Hunter and Callie.
The Montgomery County, PA, SPCA quotes that the cost will be:
- Food to catch - Anywhere between $10-$50 - can post receipts.
- Initial checkup cost $45 and $23 for each added ($68)
- 25 for each state required rabies shot ($50)
- $20 for each vaccine after, going to be indoor so won't need many ($80)
- Matting varies because of severity. Can be around 100-300, so guessing around 200.
