Hi, my name is Allison, and I am raising money to pay for surgery for my cat, Callie. In September, at a visit to the vet for what we thought was a urinary tract infection, she was diagnosed with a Chylothorax - a leaking lymphatic duct causing a fluid build up in her chest. This fluid build up put pressure on her chest and abdomen, causing her to lose her appetite and making it difficult for her to breathe.

There is a surgery that can completely fix this problem, but it is between £8000 and £9000. The cost is so high because, at that visit, I also learned that the pet care plan I've been paying into for 3 years would provide no financial support for the surgery that would fix the leaking lymphatic duct, and with the diagnosis, I would not be able to find a different care plan that could support it. The vet did drain the fluid, and she has been doing better since then, but at the most recent follow up, the ultrasound showed that the fluid has started building up again.

I hope you will consider donating to this fundraiser for Callie. She is an incredibly sweet, nearly 10 year old rescue who is bonded to my other cat, Castiel, and is very much the ruler of this house. It will be devastating for me and Cas if we lose her, as she is his protector and safe place.

All funds raised will go towards her veterinary care, and any excess will be donated to the local Colchester cat rescue, Colchester Caring for Our Cats.
