Help Callie Get Her Dental Care

Donation protected
UPDATE! Callie has been adopted by the family that requested help with getting her dental done. Initially they were just going to foster her but they feared her being adopted and returned yet again! Pretty sure it was love at first sight! They are working very hard to help her overcome her anxiety and said she is a very smart stubborn little girl! And such a sweetheart! They have such faith in her they think she has the temperament to go to nursing home visits with them. We are hoping we can help with that cost as they also have a self supported rescue of sorts ~ 3 small dogs and several horses !

Meet Callie, a 7-year-old poodle or poodle mix that can’t seem to find a home and continues to be returned because she’s anxious and has potty accidents. But all of her returns have been less than 24 hours, so she never has time to adjust. Someone has offered to foster her, but they want Callie to have a dental done first- Then a nice grooming, so hopefully Callie can be adopted. This foster family is willing to give Callie the time to decompress and work with her, so she is less anxious and can hopefully get her potty-trained. She’s very scared in the shelter. Having a poodle mix breed, I know how sensitive they are. Even if you donate $1, it only takes 400 incredible souls to get there! Please help us help this sweet girl.

Here is what I was told:

Callie needs a foster hero! She has been adopted and returned several times. Each of these returns was within 24 hours of the adoption. No decompression (3-day rule) and no time at all to simply adjust! The common reason is that she is anxious. All I know is she came in with another small girl who was 14. Callie is 7, so I can assume she has always had her person and her doggie friend with her. She is now alone in a shelter and scared. Each visit I have with her, she gets more attached and comfortable with me. I have begun to bring her out to the side pen for longer periods of time since she is panicking going back into her kennel. She used to just put her feet up for pets; today she decided my lap was a better place. And now I just say, "Do you want up?" and she gets comfy! I would take turns with her and a new dog. She didn't like me being away and would bark/cry, but eventually, she got better knowing she would get her turn! Every dog that has come to the fence to meet her has been great! No reaction from her at all.
I think she will need someone who has the time to be with her and make her feel safe again and give her the space to get used to all this new going on around her.
