Hi! I am Callen Grace Aynungan from Mindoro, Philippines. I belong to a 7th tribal group in Mindoro and i belong to the Buhid tribe. I chose the midwifery course due to the challenging health situation in my village. Many individuals lack proper knowledge of medical treatment, and fear of hospitals is common. These conditions motivated me to pursue midwifery so I can contribute to health education, disease prevention, and improved healthcare access in my community. With the implementation of the new curriculum, I am required to complete an additional two years to obtain a Bachelor’s degree, as I initially earned a two-year diploma in midwifery. I believe that this additional training will equip me to better serve the poor and members of my tribe.
